Why make a New Year’s resolution to join a gym in 2010, when you can “Get Outside!” on more than 343,000 acres of public recreation lands to hike, bike and camp for little or no cost?
Public input welcome at Citrus/Hernando Waterways Restoration Council meeting

The public is invited to share ideas concerning potential water resources restoration projects when the Citrus/Hernando Waterways Restoration Council meets on Oct. 19.
The Citrus/Hernando Waterways Restoration Council will meet at 3 p.m. in Conference Rooms A & B, 1st Floor, at the Southwest Florida Water Management District Headquarters, 2379 Broad St. in Brooksville.
Hernando County offers weekend for women in November

The Hernando County Recreation Department is hosting a Women's Outdoor Weekend on Nov. 7 and 8.
The event will be held at the Lakewood Retreat, 25458 Brown Hill Road in Brooksville. Pre-registration only, and space is limited to 50 women only.
Workshops include:
- Knot Tying: “Tie Like A Guy” by Beth Doyle
- Low Ropes Initiative Course provided by Lakewood Retreat
