Beverly Hills Community Park gets new operating hours
The Beverly Hills Community Park will have new operating hours effective March 1.
The park, lat 997 W. Roosevelt Boulevard in Beverly Hills, will remain open seven days a week, but the new hours will be from dawn to dusk.
The change in hours comes because of continuing vandalism in the park.
County commission’s advisory group meets Feb. 12
The Citrus County Stakeholder’s Advisory Group (SAG) will meet at 1 p.m. on Feb. 12 in Room 166 at the Lecanto Government Building.
The agenda includes discussion of a number of issues, including:
- Administrative Regulations being reviewed by SAG
- A discussion of Duncan & Associates Impact Fee Draft Summary
- The county commission’s budget and goal-setting workshops
Water & Wastewater Authority Feb. 1 meeting canceled
The Feb. 1 meeting of the Citrus County Water & Wastewater Authority has been canceled.
The next regular meeting of the Authority is 1 p.m., March 1. The Authority meets in Room 166 at the Lecanto Government Building.

Brown-Waite staff slates Jan. 20 constituent meeting in Lecanto
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Representatives from the office of Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite (FL-05) will continue the practice of hosting Constituent Outreach Meetings throughout the 5th District.
These meetings are an opportunity for residents of the 5th district to meet with representatives from the Congresswoman’s office to discuss issues they may be having with a Federal agency.
Aviation Advisory Board meets on Jan. 14
The Citrus County Aviation Advisory Board will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, in Room 166 at the Lecanto Government Building.
The board will get updates on both the Crystal River annexation in relation to the airport, and on the Citrus Springs tower.
County landfill closing early on MLK Day, Jan. 18
In observance of Martin Luther King Day, the Citrus County Central Landfill will close early at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18.
The landfill will reopen for regular business on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
Public asked to help find missing runaway youths
The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in finding three young runaways.
Two of the runaways, Rachel Warren, 15, of Sugarmill Woods, and Vanessa Simmons, 17, of Crystal River are habitual runaways. A third runaway, Gabriel Ruiz-Cain, 16, of Inverness, is also being sought.
County beach water quality advisory rescinded
The Citrus County Health Department (CCHD), Division of Environmental Health has lifted the Fort Island Gulf Beach warning/advisory.
The state agency had kept the advisory in effect for the past month because of continuing high bacterial levels.
Sewer main installation in Homosassa begins in January
The Citrus County Utilities Division, in conjunction with Marion Rock, Inc. will begin installation of a sewer main in early January in Homosassa to serve Riverview Mobile Home Park, Camp N’ Water RV Park and Leisure River Estates.
Planning Development Review Board's Jan. 21 meeting canceled
The Citrus County Planning Development Review Board meeting scheduled for Jan. 21 has been canceled.
The next regular meeting of the board is at 9 a.m. on Feb. 4.
