The Citrus County Department of Development Services, headed by director Vince Cautero, is now five employees lighter.
Cautero implemented a reorganization of the department on Friday morning, which resulted in the elimination of five budgeted positions.
After the reorganization analysis, Cautero decided to reorganize responsibilities and assignments to improve efficiency and reduce costs. =The positions identified in the reorganization include Planning Division Director, Flood Management Coordinator, Senior Planner, Senior Secretary and GIS / CADD Technician.
County public information officer Lindsay Ubinas said the expected long-term savings to the county are projected to be approximately $300, 000 annually.
The employees affected will receive assistance by the Human Resources Department in finding alternative employment, she said.
