An unidentified man was shot and killed Monday morning by Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputies following a domestic issue and subsequent high-speed chase.
The Sheriff's Office 911 Center received a call at 5:47 a.m. about a domestic issue in the Citrus Springs neighborhood.
Details are sketchy at this point; however, when deputies responded to the area, a pursuit followed, with the suspect vehicle traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph at times.
Several shots were fired by the suspect at deputies during the pursuit, which crossed county lines at County Road 484. During the conflict, the suspect was shot and killed.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be investigating the shooting
itself and is en route to the scene.
