SRRMC contributes $50k to CFCC Science Lab

CRYSTAL RIVER - Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center and Central Florida Community College recently entered a five-year gift agreement in which the hospital will contribute a total of $50,000 to CFCC Citrus Campus educational and program needs.

In return, CFCC Citrus Campus installed a sign in the new multidiscipline science laboratory recognizing Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center for generously supporting the “Promise for the Future Campaign.”

The laboratory is part of the new 36,000-square-foot facility that opened in October. Formally called the Dorothea G. Jerome Building and Nursing Suite, the building increases the Citrus Campus instructional space by 80 percent and includes seven fully equipped multipurpose classrooms, the multidiscipline science lab and a state-of-the-art computer lab for college and corporate education; 5,000 square feet of exhibit and conference space; and a one-stop comprehensive student center with enrollment services, counseling and advising, financial aid, testing and computer stations.

“At Seven Rivers Regional, we strongly support education in the health care field at the local level,” said Joyce Brancato, chief executive officer. “This contribution to CFCC is an investment in the long-term success of health care in our community as a whole.”
