Citrus County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating the death of a 2-year-old Inverness boy.
The investigation is still underway, and detectives are not releasing the cause or manner of the child's death at this time.
Just after 1 p.m. on Feb. 14, deputies were called to 707 Emery St. after getting a report of an unresponsive male infant, Tamarri Weaver. The child's biological father is identified as 21-year-old Spencer Weaver, and the child's biological mother is Destiny Rogers, 18, also of Inverness.
With deputies, paramedics and fire rescue personnel alternately performing CPR, the child was rushed by ambulance to Citrus Memorial Hospital. Because the infant wasn't breathing on his own, the decision was made to airlift him to All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg for further pediatric care.
The child was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 16, the CCSO says.
Detectives are still investigating, and there are ongoing interviews a ith the infant's biological parents, who do not reside together, as well as with other caretakers, physicians and hospital personnel.
