CFCC slates Jan. 13 for computer forum

The Citrus Computer Forum of Central Florida Community College will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
The informal meetings are open to the public and will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Computer Lab, Building L2, Room 203, at the Citrus Campus, 3800 S. Lecanto Highway, Lecanto.
Lecanto argument leads to recovery of stolen dirt bikes

An argument between a man and his girlfriend resulted in the recovery Saturday of two dirt bikes reported stolen out of Volusia County.
Arrested was Jacob Michael Greene, 24, of 4541 Chirper Drive, Lecanto.
CCVC business meeting fourth Thursday monthly

The Citrus County Veterans Coalition returns to the regularly scheduled business meetings, after the holidays, on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Veterans Service Officer Classroom at the Citrus County Resource Center in Lecanto.

Central Florida Community College and SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, will hold a free seminar for anyone interested in starting a business, improving their business, or looking for information about SCORE volunteer opportunities.
Pet Meals on Wheels Holiday Food Drive to help some special companions

The county’s Home Delivered Meals program has an associated program for the pets of those homebound persons who need help in getting meals for themselves.
Not only the people, but the pets of those people, need a hand in getting proper nutrition.
Citrus Fire Training center graduates 11 firefighters

The Citrus County Fire Training Center graduated 11 new certified firefighters on Nov. 14.
The new firefighters of Class 23 were: Jesse Adams, Nicholas Faso, Jason Filipovsky, Keith Giera, Douglas Hope, William Howell, William Johnson, Michael Llovett, Richard Rodriguez, Bradley Williamson, and Stanley Young.
Public views new county Emergency Operations Center in Lecanto

Hundreds of people gave up a few hours of their Saturday today and went out to visit the new Citrus County Emergency Operations Center.
It was made all the more remarkable, considering the Stone Crab Jam was going on in Crystal River at the same time.
Dignitaries, CCSO preside over ribbon-cutting of new county EOC

County and state dignitaries filled a rather large tent today to mark the official ribbon-cutting of the county's new $12 million Emergency Operations Center.
And Saturday, the public will have the chance to get a glimpse of the facility, as the county opens its doors for inspection once again.
Public invited to Saturday's EOC Open House in Lecanto

History will be made this week when the new sheriff’s office Emergency Operations Center opens its doors to the public at 3549 Saunders Way in the heart of Citrus County.
Saunders Way is located off of County Road 491, just north of the traffic light at the entrance to the Lecanto school complex.
